In honor of the summer that is quickly slipping away, today we're featuring 3 Mixbook adventures. This post could also be alternatively called "A Day in the Life of a Mixbooker!" Each person used their Mixbook to tell a story about their vacation and the fun that was had, whether it was a trip down the highway or across the world. Read on, and be inspired to make a Mixbook about your summer!
1) The Fongs in Japan by Lisa F. Lisa gets an award from me for the coolest Mixbook! This 75 page book is a virtual tour of Japan - its sights, sounds, and tastes. Lisa tells me that there were over 1500 pictures from this trip, and in this book we are treated to the best selection of those photos! I love that the kitsch and culture of Japan has been captured in this Mixbook. Lisa used lots of custom frames in this book - I think I'll take a cue from her excellent eye.
If this doesn't make you want to take a trip to the Land of the Rising Sun, I don't know what else will!
2) Banff Trip 2007by Kenny S. This book made me appreciate how picturesque lakes can really be, and how the mundane can be overlooked. This book chronicled a sweet trip through Canada taken by a mother and son, with lovely scenery every step of the way. Mountains, lakes, and icy glaciers make for a super cool (get it?) summer jaunt!
3)A Laffoon Family Adventure by Rebekah L. So, we may be a bit biased on this one ... but it's a neat book nonetheless! What would summer be without a trip to the beach? Combine that with a visit to the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, and you get an awesome day trip! The silly antics of this family are featured in this colorful and quirky book filled with otters, jellyfish, and the occasional Laffoon!
Get together with your family and friends to make a Mixbook of your whereabouts this summer and share them with us!
